In your OWD Course, you mostly follow your instructor and trust that they know the way. During your time as a diver, you will want to explore more and more and it is really helpful to be able to navigate underwater. Finding your way back to the exit point may be crucial to a certain dive site. You can navigate using a compass and following natural clues.
In three practical dive sessions, you will get to know methods to estimate distance underwater and marking or relocating a submerged object (or position) from the surface. You have to master your compass navigation skills and you’ll engage in underwater map making.
Talk to your PADI instructor about the practical part of this course. They will confirm how valuable the Underwater Navigator Specialty Course (79302) is for all your future dives!
