Suunto keeps improving the performance of their compasses, with the SK8 being the latest model in the range. The SK8 looks similar to the SK7, but is quicker, stabilizes faster and is even easier to read underwater!
The compass uses an upgraded magnet as well, which means you can use it accurately in most parts of the globe. There is still a minor difference between the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere model. Here in Australia we sell the southern hemisphere model of course.
The SK8 has a tilt potential of plus or minus 30 degrees and a firm-grip bezel with ratchet to prevent sand and dirt from interfering with its smooth operation.
